You’ve always wanted to learn Sanskrit, but never found the right starting point. In this live 5-day beginner's workshop, an expert faculty from the University of Mumbai will guide you step-by-step, helping the language finally unfold its beauty to you.
Join the Workshop NowSanskrit is the language in which the Bhagavad Gita was spoken, the Vedas were revealed, and the Upanishads were composed. For thousands of years, this sacred tongue carried the undiluted wisdom of our civilisation. Yet most of us can only access it through translations - which, however good, can never fully capture the depth, rhythm and nuance of the original.
This workshop is your first step toward changing that. In just 5 days, you will begin to hear, understand and feel the Sanskrit language - not as an academic exercise, but as a living connection to your heritage.

Astonishing - within 5 sessions I have learned a new language, Sanskrit, which I always feared as too difficult. But Open Pathshala made it easy and interesting. Very worthy. Now I am continuing further.
This 5-day workshop was very useful and informative. The new method of teaching Sanskrit - learning by doing - is innovative and interesting. Best workshop I have attended this year, and I say this after 40 years in corporate life.
I always wanted to learn Sanskrit but could not find the time. Open Pathshala gave me a great opportunity - a peep into this beautiful ancient language. Learning in this 5-day workshop made me feel I am taking steps back towards my roots.
The earnestness of Sharvariji, the dynamic and interactive manner of teaching and their passion for Sanskrit made these 5 days enriching and made me want to continue learning more. These online classes are usually so cold and matter of fact - but this one is just so impressive and heartfelt. Dhanayavadah, Punaha Milaamaha!
For introduction to Sanskrit the course is very good and interesting. The teacher is excellent and very patient and explains and even repeats the explanation, and is always ready to answer questions.
I really can't believe it. I am a non-Hindi native, but I was still able to catch up with the lesson plan completely. I believe it is only possible because of the pictorial lessons with the step-by-step approach. Truly remarkable teaching.
Sanskritam is truly a magnificent language - Devabhasha, the language of the gods, and the root of many Indian languages. Learning Sanskrit reconnects us with our epics, heritage and the wisdom of our civilisation. This workshop is the most beautiful first step.
Very good experience. Very fluid, self-explanatory teaching methodology and rich course content. It has certainly given me a solid push to learn further in detail. Every penny worth it.

A carefully crafted sequence, building your confidence with every session
Begin your journey by learning to greet others and introduce yourself in Sanskrit. By the end of Day 1, you will be forming your first Sanskrit sentences - a deeply satisfying and motivating start to the week.
Learn the Sanskrit names for the days of the week (which carry deep astronomical and Vedic significance), how to say today, tomorrow and yesterday, and how to construct simple singular and plural sentences.
Build your vocabulary of easy, commonly used verbs. Learn to indicate the location of something, count in Sanskrit, and understand one of its unique features - the three genders of words (masculine, feminine and neuter).
Use pronouns - he, she, it - in sentences. Learn to tell the time in Sanskrit and use "is," "is not," "are," and "are not" fluently. Your sentences are now becoming more expressive and nuanced.
The culminating session. You will construct full sentences with Subject-Object-Verb combinations, and then - the highlight of the workshop - read and understand a real Sanskrit shloka (सुभाषितम / subhāṣitam). A milestone you will remember for years to come.
