Meaning:- O Arjuna, as a blazing fire reduces pieces of wood to ashes, similarly the fire of Knowledge reduces all actions to ashes.
अर्थ:- हे अर्जुन ! जैसे प्रज्वलित अग्नि ईंधनोंको सर्वथा भस्म कर देती है, ऐसे ही ज्ञानरूपी अग्नि सम्पूर्ण कर्मोंको सर्वथा भस्म कर देती है।
Important word:- ‘action’
ब्रह्मण्याधाय कर्माणि सङ्गं त्यक्त्वा करोति यः।
लिप्यते न स पापेन पद्मपत्रमिवाम्भसा।।5.10।।
Meaning:- One who acts by dedicating actions to Brahman and by renouncing attachment, he does not become polluted by sin, just as a lotus leaf is not by water.
अर्थ:- जो पुरुष सब कर्म ब्रह्म में अर्पण करके और आसक्ति को त्यागकर करता है, वह पुरुष कमल के पत्ते के सदृश पाप से लिप्त नहीं होता।।
Important word:- ‘sin’
अपि चेत्सुदुराचारो भजते मामनन्यभाक्।
साधुरेव स मन्तव्यः सम्यग्व्यवसितो हि सः।।9.30।।
Meaning:- Even if a man of very bad conduct worships Me with one-pointed devotion, he is to be considered verily good; for he has resolved rightly.
अर्थ:- यदि कोई अतिशय दुराचारी भी अनन्यभाव से मेरा भक्त होकर मुझे भजता है, वह साधु ही मानने योग्य है, क्योंकि वह यथार्थ निश्चय वाला है।।
Important word:- ‘worship’
यो मामजमनादिं च वेत्ति लोकमहेश्वरम्।
असम्मूढः स मर्त्येषु सर्वपापैः प्रमुच्यते।।10.3।।
Meaning:- He who knows Me-the birthless, the beginningless, and the great Lord of the worlds, he, the undeluded one among mortals, becomes freed from all sins.
अर्थ:- जो मनुष्य मुझे अजन्मा, अनादि और सम्पूर्ण लोकोंका महान् ईश्वर जानता है अर्थात् दृढ़तासे मानता है, वह मनुष्योंमें असम्मूढ़ (जानकार) है और वह सम्पूर्ण पापोंसे मुक्त हो जाता है।
Meaning:- Among them, sattva, being pure, [Nirmala, pure-transparent, i.e., capable of resisting any form of ignorance, and hence as illuminator, i.e.a revealer of Consciousness.] is an illuminator and is harmless. O sinless one, it binds through attachment to happiness and attachment to knowledge.
अर्थ:- हे निष्पाप अर्जुन ! इन (तीनों) में, सत्त्वगुण निर्मल होने से प्रकाशक और अनामय (निरुपद्रव, निर्विकार या निरोग) है; (वह जीव को) सुख की आसक्ति से और ज्ञान की आसक्ति से बांध देता है।।

सर्वधर्मान्परित्यज्य मामेकं शरणं व्रज।
अहं त्वा सर्वपापेभ्यो मोक्षयिष्यामि मा शुचः।।18.66।।
Meaning:- Abandoning all forms of rites and duties, take refuge in Me alone. I shall free you from all sins. (Therefore) do not grieve.
अर्थ:- सब धर्मों का परित्याग करके तुम एक मेरी ही शरण में आओ, मैं तुम्हें समस्त पापों से मुक्त कर दूँगा, तुम शोक मत करो।।
