Meaning:- From sattva is born knowledge [Knowledge acired through the sense-organs.], and from rajas, verily, avarice. From tamas are born inadvertence and delusion as also ignorance, to be sure.
अर्थ:- सत्त्वगुण से ज्ञान उत्पन्न होता है। रजोगुण से लोभ तथा तमोगुण से प्रमाद, मोह और अज्ञान उत्पन्न होता है।।
Meaning:- This door of hell, which is the destroyer of the soul, is of three kinds-passion, anger and also greed. Therefore one should forsake these three.
अर्थ:- काम, क्रोध और लोभ -- ये तीन प्रकारके नरकके दरवाजे जीवात्माका पतन करनेवाले हैं, इसलिये इन तीनोंका त्याग कर देना चाहिये।
Meaning:- After (uttering) the word tat, acts of sacrifice and austerity as also the various acts of charity are performed without regard for results by persons aspiring for Liberation..
अर्थ:- 'तत्' नामसे कहे जानेवाले परमात्माके लिये ही सब कुछ है -- ऐसा मानकर मुक्ति चाहनेवाले मनुष्योंद्वारा फलकी इच्छासे रहित होकर अनेक प्रकारकी यज्ञ और तपरूप क्रियाएँ तथा दानरूप क्रियाएँ की जाती हैं।
