Importance of Sanskrit
Sanskrit is Hinduism’s ancient and structured language.

Sanskrit is a root language of all Indian languages except Dravidian languages. So it can improve your vocabulary / mother tongue (for Indians).

Many Hindu mantras and shlokas are in Sanskrit. If you learn Sanskrit then you will understand the meaning of Mantras in original form.

Popular Hindu literature like Mahabharata, Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana, Vedas are originally written in Sanskrit. So, It will give you the most unbiased, unfiltered perspective and raw opinions if you read them in Sanskrit.

Sanskrit shlokas and mantras help improve your pronunciation and sharpens your memory (The Sanskrit effect).

Almost all major schools of Indian philosophy like Samkhya, Nyaya, Vedanta, Yoga, etc have their literature in Sanskrit.
Sanskrit is home to three major religions of this world - that is - Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism.

Sanskrit literature has a variety of Shastra (science) such as Rasayanshastra, Vastushastra, Shilpashastra etc. Some Sanskrit literature related to science:
Charaka Samhita, Sushrut Samhita which is related to Ayurveda
Leelavati related to mathematics are in Sanskrit.
So It’s important to learn Sanskrit to understand them better.

Since Sanskrit is well connected with many regional languages, many organizations , companies, NGOs use Sanskrit name or moto. For e.g. नीती आयोग, मुद्रा Loan, etc.

All this brings direct or indirect importance to Sanskrit and makes it relevant even in today's world.
