Pratipadika explanation
Noun/ Adjective / Adverb is pratipadika which is without any case. It is actually the root word.
Eg.
देव is pratipadika, पितृ is pratipadika but देवः is not a pratipadika
अस्मद् is a pratipadika अहम् is not

So, basically the root word of Noun/ Adjective / Adverb is called pratipadika

Praatipadikam is applicable
Praatipadikam is applicable on Nouns, Adjectives and  Adverbs. The root/base form of these elements is called Praatipadikam. Whereas the base form of a verb is called Dhatu. Dhatu is applicable for verbs.

राम is praatipadikam of रामः
But खेल् is dhatu of खेलति |

Both  Praatipadikam and Dhatu are similar but Dhatu is only applicable for verbs.
