There are two types of Sanskrit.

• First one is Vedic Literature and second is Classical literature.

Vedic literature means that period where grammar was not well formed. On the other hand Classical literature is well structured by Panini, Katyayana etc. Vedic literature includes Vedas, Puranas, Upnishadas, Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana etc. Classical literature includes literature of Kalidasa, Ashvaghosha, Magha, Bharavi, Dandin which is Rutusanharam, Raghuvansham, Abhidnyan shakuntalam, Kiratarjuniya, Dashakumarcharitam, Mṛcchakaṭika etc.

These are main two types of Sanskrit language.
